NISWA held the
first of a series of planned open house occasions on June 18,
2000 at their new office on 24050 Madison Street, Suite 211,
Torrance, CA 90505. Many supporters and members attended and
expressed their encouragement and appreciation of NISWA activities in the
service of the Muslim community. NISWA is the only
non-profit Muslim Social Service organization in Southern
California with the mission to preserve the Muslim family and
find solutions and help for problems that occur in the
community. The organization provides support for victims of
domestic violence, assists in certifying foster families,
assists in placing children in Muslim foster homes, provides
counseling help and referrals, and to the best of its ability
ministers to the needs of children, youth, and seniors. To make
